Can’t figure out why the cevian works as height.
Although I’ve solved it, still in confusion. Because if the cevian is tilted, it doesn’t work as altitude.
Let’s consider that the cevian is not the altitude. Let there be an altitude “AP=h”. So the cevian, the base and the altitude forms a right angle triangle. If we draw a parallel line on X to BC, and consider the interception as Y, AY to YP has the same ratio as AX to XD. Therefore the process is the same.
